qathet Regional District Board re-elects Area ‘C’ Director Clay Brander as Chair, and elects Area ‘D’ Director Sandy McCormick as Vice-Chair
qathet, BC – Electoral Area ‘C’ Director Clay Brander has been elected Chair of the qathet Regional District (qRD) Board of Directors for the upcoming 2026 year.
At the inaugural meeting of the qRD Board of Directors, held on November 12, 2025, the Board of Directors elected Electoral Area ‘C’ Director Clay Brander to the role of Chair. This distinction marks Director Brander’s fourth appointment as Regional Board Chair.
“I sincerely thank the Board for expressing their trust in me by electing me to the position of Chair of the qathet Regional District Board of Directors. Working together as a team, our organization has made significant progress towards fostering community connections and maintaining sustainable service delivery,” said Chair Brander. “As we head into the 2026 year, I am confident that our leadership at the Board table, along with the support of our experienced staff, will continue to help our community to prosper.”
The Regional District Board also elected Electoral Area ‘D’ Director, Sandy McCormick as Vice-Chair for the 2026 calendar year. This distinction is Director McCormick’s first appointment as Vice-Chair.
